Verify Color in the Photo Studio

Verify Color in the Photo Studio

By using a properly calibrated ColorEdge monitor in the photo studio, you can conduct a photo shoot while verifying your photos in real time.

An internal sensor is included with the CG series for trouble-free calibration. Also, brightness, color temperature, and tone characteristics stabilize soon after the monitor is turned on so you can get to work more quickly.

When photographing in portrait mode, even the subtle shades of skin are revealed. The monitors can be rotated into portrait mode so you view the entire photo while continuing to shoot.

A shading hood that reduces light reflection off the screen comes bundled with the CG series and is available as an option with the CX series.

EIZO-Developed ASIC at the Core

To achieve as accurate display of color as possible, EIZO has developed its own application specific integrated circuit (ASIC). With this ASIC, the gamma level of each monitor is adjusted at the factory by measuring the R, G, and B gamma values from 0 - 255, and using the 16-bit LUT (palette of 65,281 tones) to select the 256 most appropriate tones to achieve the desired value. This ensures tones are displayed as intended without color banding making them ideal for photography and retouching where color management is critical.

CX series and select CS series monitors have SelfCorrection sensors which can be scheduled to automatically readjust the screens and save you the time of having to do it yourself.

Color Consistency for Photography and Retouching

ColorEdge produces consistent color results with very little deviation between individual monitors. A photographer and retoucher using ColorEdge monitors with the same settings can work together more efficiently.

When working remotely with a team of designers, retouchers, and a printer, each member can confirm that their monitors are displaying the same colors by sharing a monitor profile.

4K Resolution

The ColorEdge 4K series offers both DCI 4K standard (4096 × 2160) and 4K UHD (3840 × 2160) models. Whether you are creating, editing, or checking your work, the pixel density of these monitors gives you the high performance needed for expressing your creativity in extreme detail.

Predictable Color with Any Media

With content published on so many different types of printed and digital media it's critical to know how your clients will see color. A ColorEdge monitor and the bundled ColorNavigator software let you do just that as they are designed for both softproofing and digital device emulation. So now you can "predict" how color will appear to your clients whether you produce content for printed media like books and magazines or for digital media devices like tablets, smart phones, and notebook computers.

Monitors for Enjoying Digital Photos

CX and CS series monitors are ideal for home users that want to retouch, print out, and upload their digital photos.

For DSLR (digital single-lens reflex) and MILC (mirrorless interchangeable-lens camera) users that want to manage color in the Adobe RGB color space, there's the CX series. For those seeking cost performance there's the CS series.

After initial calibration with a third-party calibration device, the monitors can maintain these settings automatically with their built in sensors.

With EIZO's ColorNavigator software (sold separately) you can create profiles for different purposes such as photography, printing, and web use, and switch between them when desired.

Also, you will get more precise screen-to-print matches so you can concentrate more on your work instead of doing multiple prints.
